Happy Monday!
The last couple of weeks have been interesting for most of us. It has been revealed that we find ourselves in a time of purification. Relations are re-evaluated, questions are asked. I myself have been in ‘doing mode’ a bit, and when thinking about what my heart’s calling was, I tried to make sense with my head what my heart wanted. Instead of truly FEELING. A mediation with my magical sister who’s basically a translator to the spirit guides brought me to the light of my heart, and I still feel so grateful after this. There are guides cheering you on, loving you and supporting you. This is just a fact.
My heart’s wish is that every soul feels seen, nurtured and helped in his/her life on planet earth. Though the frequency of my heart’s resonance cannot be put in exact words or in one statement, it is a sensation that is crystal clear.
The spirit of Hathor for Authenticity.
“The most powerful energy to emit from the human body isn’t Love, it’s authenticity.”
2024 = Number 8. A great year for cleaning, clearing, decluttering. Making space for the new.
At home we have been cleaning up and purging items we’re not using anymore. We’ve worked on brightening up our kitchen by painting and adding lights, I seriously feel a change in mental brightness too now that our kitchen is brighter! These domestic things seem so little, but it’s our surroundings we live in, and it’s so important to take care of your castle.
We also framed items that needed framing and planted a new hibiscus bush. I’m so happy to provide a home to artwork and to nurture this plant into a long life in our yard.
Mother Mary artwork I bought in Mesillas, New Mexico. Go there, it’s a very cute town.
Tips for kids
We have worked with the app Greenlight. This feature gets your child a debit card with a personalized picture that you can put (chore) money on through the parent account. The cool thing is that kids can also invest in stocks in businesses they like, and they can see their stock go up and down. I think it’s great to teach kids financial literacy, so they have a bit of a clue in how things can work for them.
Chore money at our house goes in 3 boxes: Spend, Save, Give. Another way to teach kids about how to play the game of money.
A weekend with the kids on planet Earth
Interestingly, I saw a post on Instagram from a French mom living in the US that she was surprised how Americans race around on weekends driving their kids from soccer training to baseball games all weekend and that she was surprised how the weekend is all about the children. She said in France, the mornings are slow and parents go to the market and meet friends and the kids just tag along.
Of course there are Americans who do slow mornings and are less ‘sporty’, but generally there is this cultural difference. To me it raises the question, ‘How do we want to raise our children.’ Maybe this is a simple question that needs to be reflected on more often? I feel there’s lots of parents who run societies’ treadmill and aren’t conscientious about the life to create. Or maybe they do and I see it wrong.
In any case, questioning ones motivation is always a good one. Coming back to our heart again… What kind of children do we want to raise? What do you value in society? In a person?
Daily meditation with Ajai Alai. This mantra brings you back to your own power and has the capacity to help you overcome depression and anger. It’s is a magical one for me.
Kissing
I kiss much less people since I moved to the US. The other day I was hugging an American friend and I almost kissed her on the cheek, but I remembered in time I was in America and not in Europe. Whew.
In Europe we are kissers. Three times on the cheek even in Holland has been the normal standard. In Covid times this obviously changed and I believe most people have changed to a hug and a one kiss, which is my personal preference.
When I lived in Belgium, I had to get used to the fact that even when you introduce yourself to someone new, you’d kiss them on every cheek once. Let me try that in America and see how that goes…
Summer beet root cravings. Salad with quinoa, yellow beet root, turnips, feta, cucumber, mint, avo oil, salt and pepper.
The blackberry bush in my yard is gifting us a pint of blackberries every other day. Thank you!
Rooftop drinks in Kansas City enjoying a mocktail, and no I am not pregnant, I just drink very sparingly.
